Privacy Policy

Overview

LocalGap ("we," "us," "our") helps local business owners understand how they compare to nearby competitors by analyzing publicly available Google review data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you provide to us

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address
• A password, which we store as a secure hash — we never store or have access to your plain-text password
• A phone number, if you choose to add one in Settings (optional)

When you run a competitor analysis, we collect the Google Business link and category you provide for your own business, and the competitor businesses you select for comparison.

Where review data comes from

LocalGap does not scrape or independently collect Google review data. When you run an analysis, we retrieve publicly available review data for your business and the competitors you select through a third-party data provider, then process that data to generate your report. We do not control what information Google makes available through that provider, and we are not responsible for its accuracy or completeness.

How your report is generated

The reviews retrieved for your analysis are processed using a third-party AI service to produce the plain-language report you see — the headline summary, strengths, complaints, and action items. This processing happens solely to generate your report and is not used to build any separate profile about you.

Report storage

If you run an analysis without enough credits, you'll see a generic preview — this preview is never generated from your real data and nothing is stored. Once a report is unlocked (by spending a credit or through an active subscription), the full report is saved to your account so you can refer back to it.

Payment information

Subscriptions and credit purchases are processed through PayPal. LocalGap does not receive or store your full card or bank details — PayPal handles that directly, subject to PayPal's own privacy policy.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account
• To run the analyses you request and generate your reports
• To process payments and manage your credits or subscription
• To respond to support requests sent to support@localgap.app
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your account information with third parties beyond what's needed to operate the service — the review-data provider, the AI service used to generate reports, and PayPal for payments.

Data retention

We keep your account information and saved reports for as long as your account is active. If you deactivate your account from Settings, your account is disabled and you are signed out. You can request to reactivate your account within 30 days, after which your account and saved reports are deleted.

Your choices

You can update your phone number and password at any time from Settings. You can deactivate your account at any time from Settings, which signs you out and disables access. For any other request about your data, contact us at support@localgap.app.

Children's privacy

LocalGap is intended for business owners and is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect information from, anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
